Weight Loss
Perhaps no other medical condition has been more misunderstood than obesity.
According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) consensus report, morbid or clinically severe obesity is a serious disease and must be treated as such. Studies have shown the only way for people who are 100 or more pounds overweight can lose weight and successfully maintain the weight loss is through bariatric, or weight loss surgery, plus nutritional counseling and exercise.
Our approach is about you.
At NEA Baptist, we consider surgical treatment for weight loss to be a very serious undertaking and should be considered only after other conservative methods have failed. As a potential surgery patient, you must weigh the risks of the operation against the risks associated with remaining morbidly obese.
We make a long-term commitment to our patients, and in turn, expect that they make a long term commitment to their health and this program. You must understand that the surgery is only a part of the total treatment for obesity.
