5K to Benefit Charitable Program that Supports Families
/ April 30, 2019The fifth annual Mother’s Day 5K will be held Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 8 am on the NEA Baptist Medical Campus, to benefit the ShareHope Family Fund. This event was started in 2016 by a NEA Baptist employee and ShareHope mom, Andrea Simpson, to help raise additional funds for the program, which is part of the NEA Baptist Charitable Foundation.
The annual 5K is open to walkers, runners, and those pushing strollers. The race fee is $25 and includes a complimentary race t-shirt and goody bag. Registration is open now at RaceRoster.com or can be done the morning of the race. All proceeds from the event will benefit ShareHope, a program of the NEA Baptist Charitable Foundation.
ShareHope is a support service for anyone who has suffered the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant death. The program serves parents, grandparents, siblings and others in the family unit, as well as the professionals who care for grieving families. Services include bed-side companions, phone support, resource packets, private online communities, memorial events, training for caregivers and much more. We also host support groups periodically. You can find the schedule on our social media sites as they are scheduled throughout the year.
With proceeds from events like this, ShareHope is able to help the families with funeral arrangements and memorial services. Funds are available to low-income families, through our ShareHope Family Fund.
Our ShareHope community is open to anyone who has suffered the loss of a baby. If you feel that you could benefit from these supportive services, please contact Jennifer Rawls, ShareHope Program Manager, at 870-936-8400.
The program is also affiliated with the Share Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support, Inc., a national organization with over 75 chapters in 29 states. All of the services are offered free of charge through the NEA Baptist Charitable Foundation.
